As some of you may know, I was in San Diego over the summer for Comic-con. I got lost, and ended up finding a Pinkberry on my way back to the hotel, a place I had been dying to try. For some reason, I fell absolutely in love with the tangy taste of the ice cream. Since that day, I have been craving that taste again. After doing a little bit of research on Pinkberry knock-offs, I came across Naked Swirl.
In order to truly compare the two companies, I decided to get what I ordered at the original Pinkberry location: medium plain yogurt with Chocolate Chips, Strawberries and Cocoa Krispies.
Well, upon actually getting to Naked Swirl (which was actually tricky, I missed the original road), they had no Cocoa Krispies, so I ended up getting Fruity Pebbles. The owner was incredibly nice and conversational. There really didn’t seem to be a lot of choices in terms of flavors, which is one negative.
How was the yogurt though?
Perfect. That same refreshingly tart taste, same texture, it was exactly what I had hoped for. I plan on going back as soon as the weather gets a bit warmer and I can eat it without shivering. So for anyone in the Raleigh area that is craving that Pinkberry taste, visit Naked Swirl. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to go back myself and try the chocolate flavor (shame there is no green tea flavor though…

This Week’s Post Will Include:
- Review on The Flying Biscuit Cafe (which opens today, I had a sneak preview Saturday)
- My First Hockey Game (Carolina Hurricanes vs. Maple Leafs on the 15th)
- Updates on my newly purchased Minolta X-700 10$ flea market camera, and my Wal-mart Ice Cream maker, which I`m waiting to be shipped to the nearest Wal-mart (thank god for free Site-to-Store shipping!)
This month, I`ll also complete my first Daring Baker challenge, which I am incredibly excited to do!
Wow, I definitely seem to slack off on my posting. Since this is a brand new year, my resolution is to post at least once a week.
To Recap December: I celebrated Christmas for almost a week, in between my family and the boyfriend’s family. They did such a great job of making me feel welcomed. I found out that the stationary store I`m currently working at will close in February, so it makes me a bit nervous because I HAVE to have a job. I celebrated 7 months with my boyfriend, which is amazing. I also celebrated New Year’s Eve with him. It started out pretty rocky, but ending up turning into a nice evening. Me, him, a bottle of Andre Champagne, pigs in a blanket, chocolate fondue, and a pint of Whiskey (his). Then, I came back to Raleigh.
Today is my last first day of undergraduate classes. That makes me so apprehensive because I have no idea what I`m going to do after I graduate. I have so many ideas, but they all depend on if I get in to graduate school or not.
My classes for today are “Introduction to Companion Animals,” “Modern American History,” and a communication class. So a pretty easy day, hopefully. I get to go to work from 3-6, then it’ll be off to the boyfriend’s house for the night.
