Lunch: Close Talker salad from Moe’s Southwest Grill (W/ grilled chicken, lettuce, pinto beans, shredded cheese, tomatoes, and salsa. Served in the fried bowl, for some reason, but I didn’t eat it). No pictures because I was trying to hurry along at work (busy day)

Snack: 1 cup dark chocolate covered peanuts (yum)

Dinner: I picked the boy up and we went to the grocery store. He had a horrible day yesterday and could use some quality time with good ole me. So he ended up cooking me dinner and rubbing my back! For dessert, we had Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (Chunky Monkey for him, the new Milk & Cookies for me. I had about 1/2 a cup but couldn’t help but to try it. It’s not bad, but above all, my favorite ice cream is still plain old Food Lion chocolate). For dinner, he fixed Southwestern hash-browns (with a little bit of cheddar cheese) and eggs (with some cheese). My eggs were plain, his had peppers and onions. I had a Dr. Pepper, but only took a few sips.

His eggs were great this time! I say this time because a long time ago, I had asked the boy to cook me breakfast one morning. It was after he had been drinking a bit the night before, so as he was cooking, he had this bright idea to add BEER to the eggs. While he loved them, I thought they were the most disgusting thing ever.

It is WAY past my bedtime, so goodnight!!!

I read in this month’s Fitness magazine an article called “Love Your Morning.” It’s all about how the author learned to get up in the mornings. That article really spoke to me because I have the hardest time getting up in the mornings. I go to bed late and it usually takes me 1 hour at the least to actually fall asleep since my mind is constantly running. So I decided to give myself a bedtime. My goal of 11:30 p.m. is when I should be in bed during the week. I would like to keep that on the weekend, but things will always happen. I started this last night. I got to bed sleep about 12:15. Its tough because I grew up in the country, where there was no light shining in through my bedroom and NO NOISE except for the sound of crickets.

Here was my plan:

2 hours before bedtime, no more food or drink. Showered (if I exercise though, I will shower right after).

1/2 hour before bedtime, I shut down my computer, and focused on getting ready for bed, i.e. picked out clothes for today (which is a first, but it is nice to look great and have one less thing to worry about in the morning, the bad thing is that as soon as my head hit the pillow, I had already changed my mind clothing wise), brushed my teeth, and got my lunch ready (which depended on if I was taking it or not).

15 minutes before bedtime, I cut off the main light and the tv, leaving on the bathroom light. As soon as I fed the cat, I climbed into bed.

Though I couldn’t really tell a difference today, I know that in the long run, having this sort of cool down period every night will help. I will try to wake up at the same time every morning, regardless of if/when I work. On weekends, I plan to give myself an extra hour to sleep up, but getting up will allow me to enough Saturday morning TV again!

Okay, so breakfast! No oatmeal this morning because I have something I want to try for tomorrow’s breakfast.

I had two Food Lion Strawberry pop tarts. Horrible food, full of processed sugar, but I have some that I need to use up.

In other news, I woke up to snow (ugh). Luckily it’s not much this time and isn’t sticking to the roads!

Back Status: Fading some, still there. Thanks for all of the well wishes! Haven’t exercised, but I think that staying busy kept my mind off of it.

Yesterday: mini Cliff bar (chocolate chip) for breakfast, apple with peanut butter for snack, stuffed pepper guts for dinner (I’m not a fan of the outside), recipe will be available when I eat the leftovers. I started to eat a blueberry crisp that I made, but about 2 bites in, it didn’t taste good (I ran out of sugar), so I tossed it. Which is great, usually, I would just drudge through it just for a taste of something sweet.

Today:

Breakfast: Overnight Oatmeal – The Elvis (banana, almond butter, honey for sweetness, chocolate protein powder)

Lunch: Chocolate cupcake from Cafe Carolina and Bakery, 1/2 diet coke + 1/2 coke mix (felt a headache coming on)

Dinner: Vegetable stir fry with brown rice (Using my super secret stir fry sauce)

Snack: 2 cups of milk (whole)

I never thought I would ever wear a pair of jeggings until I tried on these MOTO jeggings this morning at work (Denim and Lace). I liked them, but I never knew how they would look on my body, since I’m so short. But of course, as soon as I tried them on with those boots, I fell absolutely in love. The jeggings were $54 and the boots were regular $145 (Nicole Shy Boot in Tuscany), but ended up being 50% off. I felt so good in this outfit, which shows that sometimes, all you need is a good clothes to make you feel confident, no matter what you look like.

I also found out about this hot yoga studio in Raleigh that I’m pretty excited to check out. I never thought Raleigh could have something like that. I wanted to check it out next Monday, but forgot about the Eric Clapton concert! So I might do it this week, it should make my back feel good!

Anyone have any experience with hot yoga?
